The Customer

HelpLine, a ServiceLine company, has been supplying total planning, registration, and communication solutions for the healthcare industry since 2002. Based in Leiden, this ICT specialist provides total support for primary healthcare processes through its Careware+ software platform. Customers include Omring, Thuiszorg Het Friese Land, ATAL Medisch Diagnostisch Centrum, and GGD West-Brabant.

The Request

The use of PDAs and mobile Internet connections for working in the healthcare field are the main characteristics of helpLine’s services. Hundreds of concurrent users use this service 24/7, which means that the ICT infrastructure, including the hosting, needs to comply with high requirements.

HelpLine needed a solution that was both highly accessible and highly available. This was vital as over 400 field nurses and care providers use their mobile devices every day to consult their schedules, register activities, and communicate with colleagues around the clock.

"High system accessibility and availability is vital for our company, so the hosting must be impeccable."

Hereward Burgers, Managing Director

The Solution

While Leaseweb’s VMware and Cisco certified engineers are responsible for the management and maintenance of the virtual environment. helpLine also utilizes Leaseweb’s shared NetApp storage platform for both backup and redundancy purposes.

The Leaseweb solution makes expanding the virtual environment with processor power and memory a much more flexible and efficient process. While the increased data transparency for all users (field workers, planners, managers, and the executive board), has significantly improved productivity.
